First ride

Lately my trusty Honda Civic has been having problems. Kirk has worked on it with some success but there is still something amiss. We are hopeful that whatever the problem is can be fixed and that we can avoid purchasing a "new" vehicle immediately. On a personal level, I am annoyed that my 14 year old car (which I have owned for nearly 11) with 191,000 miles may not last at last another 100,000 miles. There is a big banner at the the Honda dealership (where I purchased the car) with owners reaching the 100,000 mile clubs up to 500,000! I so want to be on that banner with something better than a paltry 100,000 miles.

In the meantime, the kids and I still need to get around. Last year I upgraded my bike into a e-bike. It's really helpful to have a boost of power for hills (or any other time I don't want to peddle). Today we took advantage of the gorgeous Spring weather and went for a ride. Destination: Library drop box about .5 mile away. It was Janie's first time ever riding in the bike trailer. She was so excited to ride in it she couldn't hardly stand it. Both kids had a such a good time that they begged to go further when we approached home. I indulged them and we went an extra loop around the neighborhood. I especially enjoyed incorporating the exercise of cycling into the errand we needed to run.
